My student portfolio page includes "snapshots" of me as a writer this year. As you read my pieces, please consider my efforts to create strong content with clear ideas and organization; creative craft with precise word choice and sentence variations; and consistent conventions with grammar, punctuation, and spelling all designed to assist you as a reader.
Label ALL posts for critical response: praise, raise or elevate...don't forget to then put your personal reflection comments asking your reader specifically what you would like them to notice about your writing.
Praise means the writing is finished and the writer would like positive feedback from readers about what they liked in the piece. This is an invitation to celebrate the finished piece.
Raise means the writing is almost finished, and the writer would like readers to “iron out any wrinkles” that they may perceive in the piece. This is an invitation to comment on any aspect of the writing.
Elevate means the writer has a specific question about a specific aspect of the writing, and wants reader feedback on that aspect only. This is an invitation to comment on the writer’s specific request.
EXAMPLE POST: SkylarW-Snapshot Moment - RAISE: In this writing piece "Snapshot moment Rough Draft 2", I would like my reader to notice my descriptive word choice and vivid imagery allows you to see, feel and hear what I heard at this exact moment.
